Comparative Analysis, Best Practices and Scalability

The Dig_IT project has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of Task 6.4, led by ITAINNOVA, which provides an in-depth final evaluation of the Dig_IT IIoT platform. This task’s primary objective was to develop a robust best practice guide focused on scalability, gathering essential feedback from end-users and platform developers to refine the platform’s usability, integration, and scalability.

The evaluation process incorporated a survey aimed at capturing the experiences and insights of stakeholders involved in Dig_IT, including both end-users and platform developers. The survey assessed multiple aspects, including the user-friendliness and scalability of the various technologies implemented throughout the project, providing valuable insights into performance metrics and areas for potential improvement. Additionally, the feedback from this evaluation has helped in forming specific guidelines for enhancing the adaptability and effectiveness of the IIoT platform for future applications in the mining sector.

As the final task of WP6, Task 6.4 not only fulfills the primary goal of the work package but also serves as a reference for future implementation, demonstrating best practices for scalability and effective integration within complex industrial applications.

This task culminates in the publication of Deliverable D6.4, “Generalized Best Practices and Scalability Analysis,” which provides a comprehensive guide for adapting the Dig_IT platform to various mining contexts while ensuring robust performance and ease of integration. The insights gained through Task 6.4 will contribute to establishing foundational practices, ultimately facilitating future applications and improving the effectiveness of digital solutions in the mining industry.
